When this day is done I want to feel that I have brought a smile

A helping hand might I have loaned to one to cross that extra mile





That I might have opened eyes of one closed mind
that they may feast upon

The blessings of what God has for them
At His mighty golden throne





When I lay down when this day is done I want to feel a part

Of making life a better place with one less hurting heart





To know that my light was a shining beam of hope

To know that I showed His love while helping one to cope





If I can reflect and see I helped make a brighter day
but for only one

Then I will sleep a peaceful sleep
